Q6(b). Power of Integrity

Question
“Integrity is a value that empowers the human being”. Justify with suitable illustration. (Answer in 150 words)

Answer
The word integrity means the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles. A person with integrity adheres to moral principles even when they are not under public scrutiny. A person of integrity is integrated ‘within’ and with the ‘outside’ world. When we have integrity within, we think, speak and act in harmony. When we are integrated with the outside world, we don’t act in a selfish manner, but rather act in a way that brings good to ourselves and the world.

The people with integrity are reliable, and people trust them to do the right thing in all conditions. For example, if an officer has integrity takes a decision, his superiors, subordinates, and citizens trust his actions and give him the full support leading to successful completion of the task. On the other hand, the decisions of a dishonest person are always looked at with suspicion and fail to get broader support. Hence, integrity empowers human beings due to the support and trust of all fellow human beings. (170 words)
