Many people consider education merely as a tool to get a job in order to earn a good living. In reality, knowledge actualises actions and education transformsa person. An educated person has a better understanding of the self and the world. His thoughts are more rational and his actions more effective. When people in a society are more educated, they are more cultured, prosperous and lead a much better quality of life.

The New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 aims to transform society by universalisation of education from pre-school to secondary level with 100 per cent gross enrolment ratio (GER) in school education by 2030 and aims to raise GER in higher education to 50 per cent by 2035. The policy also envisages broad-based, multi-disciplinary education with flexible curricula, creative combinations of subjects, integration of vocational education and multiple entry and exit points with appropriate certification. Thus, NEP 2020 aims for lifelong education with constant upgradation of knowledge and skill to bring lasting transformation of Indian society.
